HubSpot setup cost in the UK and what a small business should really budget
For a UK small business, HubSpot setup cost is three things added together. There’s the licence you pay HubSpot, the build that makes it fit how your business works, and the training that gets your team using it. Most owners only budget for the licence, and that’s why so many end up paying every month for a CRM nobody logs into.
This guide gives you the figures for each part and the questions to ask before you sign. If you’d rather talk it through with someone local, our CRM consultant in Essex page explains how we scope and build HubSpot for small teams.
HubSpot setup cost in the UK at a glance
HubSpot bills in US dollars and its published prices exclude VAT. The figures below are the Sales Hub starting prices on HubSpot’s pricing page as of November 2026. The pound figures are approximate, converted at $1 to £0.74 on 06/11/26, so your bill will move with the exchange rate.
| Item | Price (ex VAT) | Approx. in £ |
|---|---|---|
| Sales Hub Starter | From $7 to $20 per seat per month, no onboarding fee | About £5 to £15 per seat per month |
| Sales Hub Professional | From $90 to $100 per seat per month, plus a one-off $1,500 onboarding fee | About £67 to £74 per seat per month, plus about £1,110 once |
| Sales Hub Enterprise | From $150 per seat per month, plus a one-off $3,500 onboarding fee | About £111 per seat per month, plus about £2,600 once |
| Setup by 07 Heaven | From £1,995 + VAT, fixed scope | From £1,995 + VAT |
Where a range is shown, the figure you pay depends on billing terms and any current offer. Add VAT at 20% to every line. HubSpot’s own onboarding fee covers getting you started on their software. It isn’t the same as a build mapped to your pipeline, your data and your other tools, which is what the setup line pays for.
The three parts of your HubSpot setup cost
1. The licence
The recurring bit. What you pay depends on four choices.
- Which hubs you buy. Plenty of small businesses only need the Sales Hub to start.
- Which tier. The jump from Starter to Professional is where most budgets go wrong, because the features owners want, like proper workflow automation, sit higher up.
- How many seats. Count the people who’ll genuinely work in it, not everyone who might glance at a report.
- Contact volume and renewal. Marketing tools are priced partly on marketing contacts, and the year-two price matters as much as the first.
2. The build
The one-off work that turns a blank account into your system. A proper build usually covers:
- Mapping your real pipeline, the stages a deal actually goes through in your business, not a template.
- Setting up the fields you need, then cleaning and importing your contacts, deals and history.
- Connecting the tools you already use, such as your email, calendar, website forms and accounting software like Xero or QuickBooks.
- Building the automations, so a new enquiry creates a record, assigns an owner and triggers the follow-up without anyone typing it in twice.
- Setting up a small number of reports you’ll actually look at.
If you’re importing contacts, you need to know your lawful basis for holding and emailing them. The ICO’s UK GDPR guidance is the place to check. A good build cleans the list rather than dumping everything in.
Our setups start from £1,995 + VAT. The price goes up with the number of pipelines, the state of your data, how many tools need connecting and how deep the automation goes. One pipeline, clean data and a couple of integrations sits near the start figure. Several pipelines, three messy spreadsheets and multi-step onboarding sit higher. Ask for the build as a fixed scope with a clear list of what’s in and what isn’t, because open-ended day rates are how CRM budgets drift.
3. Training and adoption
This is the part almost everyone leaves out, and it decides whether the other two were worth paying for. Budget for it as its own line, with hands-on sessions so your team knows what to log, when, and why it helps them. The free HubSpot Academy covers the software well. What it can’t cover is how your business uses it. That has to be taught on your setup, with your pipeline and your data.

What it costs when you skip the build or the training
The expensive outcome isn’t a big build invoice. It’s paying a licence for a system that sits half used while the real information lives in inboxes and spreadsheets.
A facilities management company in Southend came to us paying for a Salesforce licence they barely used. We moved them onto HubSpot with their real pipeline mapped, and the sales team went from logging in a couple of times a week to using it every day. The difference was a build that matched how they actually sell.
If you want to see what a build looks like once it’s joined up with the rest of the business, our professional services work walks through intake and onboarding end to end.
Questions to ask any HubSpot consultant
- What exactly is included in the build, and what would count as extra?
- Which tier do I actually need for the jobs on my list, and why?
- How will you clean and import my data, and which of my tools will connect?
- Is the training on my setup or generic?
- What happens after go-live if something needs changing?
A good consultant will answer all of these without hesitation, and will sometimes tell you to buy less, not more. One client who hired us on Upwork to set up HubSpot Sales Hub and Marketing Hub wrote: “He’s been really proactive with solutions, knows his stuff (he was setting up my HubSpot). He setup stuff I wasn’t even aware of.”

Common questions
Is HubSpot free for small businesses?
HubSpot has a free CRM that covers contacts, deals and basic tools, and it’s a reasonable place to start. Workflow automation and detailed reporting sit on paid tiers, and free software still needs setting up properly.
How much does HubSpot cost to set up in the UK?
Sales Hub licences start at about £5 per seat per month on Starter and about £111 on Enterprise, plus VAT, with one-off HubSpot onboarding fees of about £1,110 on Professional and £2,600 on Enterprise (November 2026 prices, converted from US dollars). A fixed-scope setup by 07 Heaven starts from £1,995 + VAT.
Can I set up HubSpot myself?
You can, and plenty of owners get the basics working with HubSpot Academy. DIY setups usually fall short on pipeline design, data cleaning and automation, which is where the time savings come from.
